Polperro
is on the south coast of Cornwall, just past Looe. It
is about 30 minutes by car from Plymouth and within easy reach
of all of Cornwall's major attractions.
It is set at the mouth of the River
Pol, which flows beside the road down into the
village and out into the harbour. The village benefits
from having narrow roads and restricted traffic, making
it safe for wandering around and enjoying the peace and tranquility.
There is a large public carpark
at the top of the village, and it is then a
short walk (750 metres) to the harbour. During
the summer season a horse-drawn cart or mini
tram
ferries visitors to and from the village for a small charge. |
