Take time to explore the narrow lanes of this unique
village, enjoy the variety of shops and the delicious
Cornish ice-cream - and stroll through the famous miniature
village. Absorb Polperro's fascinating history at the
Museum of Smuggling by the harbour. The museum is full
of artifacts, models and paraphernalia that relate to
the myths and legends of Polperro (open daily March-October
between 10am and 6pm). Enjoy a boat trip along the coast.
You could also take a ride on one of Polperro's horse-drawn
carriages, or its miniature bus. Then enjoy selecting
from its tasty selection of retaurants or choose a fish
and chip supper by the harbour.
Venturing further afield, take a stroll along the
beautiful coast path towards Talland Bay, a fairly easy
mile and a half. Or spend time exploring the nearby,
bustling resort of Looe, with its large sandy beach
and numerous attractions. Another fascinating place
to visit is the port of Fowey.
Throughout the year, Polperro offers a wealth of
activities to enjoy, from listening to the Polperro
fisherman's choir to watching the arrival of Father
Christmas - with a warming glass of mulled wine and
a delicious homemade mince pie or two. Art and craft
exhibitions are held frequently in the village hall,
as are antique and collectible fairs. It's a special
place and its charms are sure to draw you again and
again.
